The Peterson Family | At-Home Garden Lifestyle Session | St. Louis, MO
As a St. Louis MO family photographer, I have the honor to take portraits for families in all stages of life. But, there are some couples that I have the extra privilege of capturing portraits of throughout their story. The Peterson family is one of those families. I’ve worked with Nate and Anne for their portraits as a couple, a pregnancy announcement, maternity portraits, and now portraits of their life with a one-year-old. When a family like the Petersons asks me to be a part of their memories over and over, I can’t help but feel flattered and so honored.
We recently met up for Calvin’s one-year portraits at their St. Louis MO home. Calvin was brought home in June during the pandemic, so it was SO exciting to meet him and celebrate his first year of life. To start our session, we just let Calvin play with his parents in his bedroom. It was a great chance to capture them enjoying the normal day-to-day with their one-year-old. When Calvin was ready, we headed out to their backyard and enjoyed walking around their garden. Calvin loved showing me the yellow flower that was from Anne’s grandmother’s garden - I mean, how special is that?! Nate has been working hard on their garden for the last three years and it’s paying off. It’s so pretty!
Knowing that the garden was important to Nate, Anne, and Calvin made it important to me. I wanted to be sure to highlight this special place in their home. This is why pre-session questionnaires and consultations are so important to me. I want to understand what will make your session most meaningful to you and capture those moments for you.
Enjoy this peek into the Peterson family’s session!
